Description

Dentsply Maillefer C+ Files are stainless steel endodontic hand files specifically designed for the initial phase of root canal treatment, particularly for locating canal orifices and for catheterization or negotiation of calcified or difficult-to-access root canals. They are known for their stiffness and high resistance to buckling, which allows for easier penetration into challenging canals. The C+ file features a unique heat treatment that gives it increased transverse strength compared to conventional K-files, making it suitable for penetrating mineralized canals and creating a smooth glide path before the use of rotary nickel-titanium (NiTi) files. They possess a pyramidal tip that facilitates easier penetration and a square cross-section for better resistance to distortion. Depth markings are usually present on the files for accurate working length determination.
