Dentsply Maillefer Gates Glidden
Stainless steel, engine-driven drills for enlarging the coronal portion of root canals, featuring a safety tip and designed for bulk tooth structure removal and improved canal access.
Description
Dentsply Maillefer Gates Glidden Drills are engine-driven, stainless steel instruments used in endodontics. Their primary purpose is to enlarge the coronal (upper) portion of the root canal, facilitating bulk removal of tooth structure and creating easier access to the apical regions. They are designed with a flame-shaped cutting point on a long, thin shaft attached to a latch-type (RA – Right Angle) shank for use in a slow-speed handpiece. These drills are side-cutting instruments with a safety (non-cutting) tip to minimize the risk of ledging or perforation. They are often used in the preparation of the coronal two-thirds of canals, for removing gutta-percha during post space preparation or retreatment, and can help widen a canal if an instrument has fractured within it.
